Dawn Peeking Through White Pines

I have always been an early riser, but not quite so early as to catch the sunrise. However, just this summer, I eagerly rise and await the dawn. I love how the strange orange fingers of sky pull back the drape of darkness to let the sunshine in. It is my new favorite time of day....

GARBAGE SALE!!!!!

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Hence, garbage sale.

I am cleansing my abode of stuff! Friday and Saturday, I am offering my junque to anyone who wants to lay down their nickels and dimes. I am getting rid of stuff!
A few things have made their way back into the house. However, the majority of stuff covers the tabletops where I have been setting up.

I am thinking I will call it the "Everything $1" Sale, or "Deal, or No Deal", or "OBO Sale".

Regardless, it is out of my house and, hopefully, it will become treasure in someone else's.

Ted Kooser, Part II

Ev and I just returned home from a poetry reading and book signing at the Octagon by the former Poet Laureate Ted Kooser. It was delightful. This was the last day for the exhibit Kooser IMPACT. This beautiful artwork was created by Nebraska artists inspired by the poetry of Kooser and served as a powerful backdrop for his readings.

Evan and I have been fans of Mr. Kooser and his work for many years. Ev was so happy to be able to sit before such an incredibly humble man and listen to him tell us his stories.

This was a nice treat to spend Sunday afternoon with my son and Mr. Ted Kooser.
